This page is for factions commands and how-to's. NOT for information on a specific faction!

What are factions

On NBZ, players can decide join Factions. Factions are groups of players that join each other. If players decide to join up in a faction, they will become "friends" meaning that they will no longer be able to harm each other. Factions can decide to select other factions as their allies or enemies, this way NBZ can participate in large faction based battles. During the 2016 update, there were only two factions: Axis and Allies, and NBZ had battles based on that. Currently, anyone can create a faction.

Claiming land

One of the most important benefits of factions is the ability to "claim" land. This way, factions can protect their own structures; for example: A base or Airport. The claiming of land is done by the chunk, which means that 1 unit of land is a chunk of 16*16*World Height. Factions can claim land by using either the /f claim or the /f autoclaim commands: the first claims one chunk of land, and the second claims all the land you walk on until you disable it again. There are also many other extensions and versions of this command. Use /f help in your command console for more information.

Take Note: the claiming of land is limited and expensive, so make sure you claim the land you want. You can unclaim land as well, but this will be even more expensive.

PermaFactions

Permafactions were permanent factions based on real world nations, Russia, United States, Great Britian, Germany, Japan, Italy and so forth. These factions' purpose was world conquest. This style game play was revisted a number of times always returning to Player created factions. In early 2016, the server administration decided to re-institute Permafactions and new world was designed. Originally designed to be 6 way permafactions war, with each faction having it's own city. However, during the construction phase, griefers destroyed the permafaction world. However, efforts were made to try to carry a less construction-based world. By summer 2016, 2-permafactions were set up, implemented, and finished. Allies vs Axis with empty / abandoned faction bases left for each respecting faction to conqueror. After a few months, game play didn't result in what was a desired outcome.

World Map for 2016 Update

After a general vote we have now removed the 'AXIS vs. Allies' roleplay for factions. We now have implemented the custom player faction system that allows the players of NBZ to create their own factions and lead them into battle. Players can now:

- Destroy Bases
- Sink any ships they want with no restrictions

80% of the restrictions that were in place during the previous update are now suspended/removed.

Current Faction Game Play

The latest game play, as of January 2017, is done on a Map replicating the real planet Earth. Player factions are now being used as per normal. The spawn is denoted by a faded cross like star just off the west coast of Africa.

Other Features Available to Factions

Factions, if they can afford to do so, may pay for a ship Spawner for their members' use. These spawners cost 1,000,000 dollars to setup for any given faction.
